Lyle has worked for many public and private companies in the Northwest, including the State of Idaho and State of Utah Department of Highways.

Thompson Engineering, Inc. is a family owned Civil Engineering and Land Surveying Company started by Lyle Thompson in 1973. Lyle is a native of Southeast Idaho, born and raised in Madison County. Today, Thompson Engineering is owned and operated by Lyle's four sons. All four brothers have grown up in the family business of Land Surveying and Civil Engineering by working with their father on many Public and Private sector jobs. Kevin obtained his Professional Land Surveyors License in May 2002. He continues his education in the Land Surveying field by attending Training Conferences throughout the United States. John is a Survey Crew Chief who operates field GPS and level equipment as well as performing Survey and Subdivision Layout Computations. Brandon graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering in May 2007. He received his Engineer in Training Certification in July 2007. James Thompson is a Survey Crew Chief that operates GPS equipment in the field for Boundary Surveys and Subdivision Lot Stakeout, as well as Subdivision and Commercial Site Plan Utility Staking.
Thompson Engineering has the equipment and software to provide a completed product in a timely manner. In the field we use Topcon GPS survey equipment and Electronic Distance Meters. In the office we use the most advanced survey and engineering software on the market, AutoCAD and AutoCAD - Land Development Desktop. Because of Thompson Engineering's Commitment to staynig on the cutting edge of technology, we pride ourselves on getting the job done faster, with a high level of accuracy.
